A note about our local dances

Until this spring, every Monday night we have been enjoying the hospitality of Caesar Martini's for swing dancing. With the unfortunate fire in their plaza, Caesar's has been putting many hours of work into reopening their venue. Although they are now open again, this transition has also included large changes to their scheduling. As such, we are no longer a regular fixture at Caesar's. However, dancing continues! See below for our new current schedule of regular local events.

Weekly Dances

Live Jazz at Maxwell's (Mondays weekly)

The Hep Cat Hoppers brings us a weekly night of live swing music. Come to Maxwell's every week to enjoy the music of talented local artists and relax in this cozy jazz bar. A great place for new people to see what swing dancing is like, or for visitors to meet some of the Waterloo regulars.

Blues Jam at Bobby O'Brien's (Wednesdays weekly)

Wednesdays at Bobby O'Brien's (formerly The Still Bar & Grill) come and join us for some live blues music and blues jamming. With a nice new wood floor and a huge patio open in the summer, this is a great venue to get a cold drink and practice your moves.

Join the UW Swing Club for free social dancing in a great, relaxing outdoor venue.

Live Jazz at the Lanc (Saturdays weekly)

Jazz at the Lanc is on break over the summer. Join us again in the fall!

Every Saturday from 4 pm to 7 pm, the boisterous sounds of Dixieland Jazz fill The Lancaster House in Kitchener.

Monthly Dances

Live Jazz at the Black Forest Inn (last Sunday of each month)

Four hours of dancing to a live swinging jazz combo and all of the finest food you can eat for only $19.00 +tax at the Black Forest Inn in Conestogo, just 3 minutes from Conestoga Mall. The lovely and talented Carolyn Plashette and her small jazz band will sing and play you around the dance floor. There is a great all-you-can eat smorgasbord; the BFI's reputation for fine dining is known throughout Waterloo region!

Hamilton Monthly Dance (one Tuesday per month)

Hamilton runs a dance every month, usually with a live band, bringing in dancers from Toronto, Waterloo, and elsewhere. Check out Hammer Hoppers for up-to-date information.
