Caitlin was a founding member of the multi-award winning performance troupe Minnie's Moochers, from Ithaca, NY, who recently performed at the Frankie95 Celebration in NYC. She has been in demand as a teacher across the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia for many years. She has also been the artistic director & choreographer of The Flappettes, a sassy all female 1920's Jazz & Charleston troupe.
You might have recently seen Caitlin teaching, judging, and performing at some of these well-known intenational events! Check out this video of Caitlin performing with Peter Strom and the rest of the instructors at the infamous Beantown Camp in 2005 (she's the one wearing the red shirt and black shoes).

Class Information

The classes are running around 1 hour and 15 minutes each and have material for all levels. Intermediate and experienced dancers will find themselves pushed to improve their form and style on the dance floor, but anyone who is comfortable with 8-count lindy hop basics (swingout, circle, etc) is welcome and will find tons to learn. If you have any questions just email us or talk to one of the event organizers * when you see us out dancing!

Class Schedule

10:30-11:40Class 1:
From the ground up
We start off the day working on some fundamentals. We'll take a look at what we can really do with our dancing to make lindy hop smooth and comfortable.
11:45-1:00 Class 2:
Spicing up your footwork
Lindy hop comes from the music and from the jazz dancing that people already knew at the time. So let's grab some of that fun footwork and learn how to put together some fun new variations that really swing.
2:00-3:10 Class 3:
Moves that rock
Dancing wouldn't be the same without all those funky moves that make you stand out on the floor. Let's see what we can add to your repetoire!
3:15-4:30 Class 4:
Picking up the tempo
As the music gets faster, what can you do with your body to keep that relaxed, fun, and connected feeling without it getting panicky and rushed?
4:45-6:00 Class 5:
Master class
For those who've had a while to get comfortable with lindy hop, this class will give you some new challenges and open new doors to help your dancing grow. See below for details.

Master Class

Caitlin has years and years of experience to share and the last class of the workshop is a time where she can bring these ideas to more experienced dancers to help us move in new directions. This class has different prerequisites so that the students who attend won't be frustrated with the material offered, and will have the chance to challenge each other in a suitable way. To attend this class, dancers must: It's not our interest or intention to draw boundaries between dancers, but it has been repeatedly shown in the swing dance world that some steps are necessary to create the class environment described above so that both the students and the teacher can share a productive and effective learning experience.
